THE RIGHT WINDOWS FOR VENTILATION

THE RIGHT WINDOWS FOR VENTILATION

When designing a home, window placement will be one of the most important decisions that you’ll make! While your architect will provide guidance towards style and positioning, it is vital to have a deeper understanding of the importance of ventilation, and how this differs throughout the home. All things considered, here’s Bradnam’s rundown of some of the many questions that arise regarding windows and ventilation.

OTHER WINDOWS

Sliding Windows

Our aluminium sliding windows are designed to meet all the requirements of the modern home, including security, strength, reliability and expansive views. As the name suggests, they are opened and closed by sliding the moving sash or sashes horizontally, left or right. They are the most common type of window found in Australian homes.

Awning Windows

Our aluminium awning windows are what you need if you want windows that can provide ventilation and natural light to your home. With a hinge near the top of the frame, they swing out at the bottom to open. Awning windows can be partially or fully opened (closed) by turning a winder, making them perfect if you want to leave windows partially open during light rain. They are sometimes referred to as ‘hopper windows’.

Double Hung Windows

Double hung windows or sash windows allow you to enjoy the benefits of natural light and breeze, including areas with limited opening spaces. The sashes remain inside the frame, so they don’t protrude when open. They typically feature two panels which can slide up and down in the frame.
